For those who wish to experience the real Africa, this is the place for you. Away from the main lodges, the Camp is set back among a forest grove with access to a nearby river. Zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, elephant, hippo and baboon, congregate around Camp throughout the day and at night one can hear the roar of lions and the whoop of hyenas.
The tented accommodation is clean and very comfortable and features a with comfortable bed, mosquito net, torch, private washstand, soap, towels, flip flops, a private flush toilet and a hot shower facility at the back of each tent.
The meals are very good and plentiful and staff will easily accommodate special requests such as preparing traditional food and other dietary restrictions. Afternoon tea or coffee with biscuits is always provided before the late afternoon game drive. The staff join you at the campfire in the evenings and they have many stories to recount and are extremely knowledgeable of the area and its wildlife. For those who enjoy star gazing, the night sky is free of any "light pollution" making this a worthwhile experience.
The Camp is definitely recommended to those who have a sense of adventure and love outdoors but still require some creature comforts.
Highly recommended for romantic getaway, families with small children, families with teenagers and tourists. |
